In order to highlight student work and innovation, Mid Michigan College hosted a Student Showcase on each campus. The showcase on the Harrison Campus featured 35 projects from 40 students, while the Mt. Pleasant Campus event featured 101 projects from over 150 students.

LANSING Although the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs distributes nearly $13 million a year in disability compensation and pension payments to Gladwin County veterans, many more veterans and their families are eligible for this benefit.

Use a mesh bag to hold flowers in place in a vase. Just roll or wad it up and put it down in the bottom of the vase. When you are done with the flowers, you can use a stick to swish the bag around and loosen any gunk inside the vase when cleaning. Launder the mesh or just toss.

DEAR DR. ROACH: Whenever I got a wound while I was young, my mother would take me to the hospital to get stitches. I am now 94. I went to get a wound seen, and the nurse said that it needed to heal from the inside. They treated it with gauze, wrapping and then a stocking. It took months to heal.

LANSING Despite the recent cold weather, spongy moth caterpillars already may be hatching in the Lower Peninsula, according to Michigan State University’s Enviroweather prediction model.
