Iwas in a deep, deep, deep nap in my comfy chair. The level I attained was either the third level or “Inception.” This is the kind of nap that an alarm clock would prove to be totally ineffective at waking you up. The doorbell would not penetrate the REM world.

EAST LANSING On the top floor of Spartan Stadium, researchers from Michigan State University and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources secured tracking bands – in a banding ceremony – on four peregrine falcon chicks to monitor their movements once they leave the nest.

DEAR PAW’S CORNER: My 6-year-old cat Ella has gotten very clingy lately. She was always fairly independent and preferred to lounge atop the sofa and watch the world outside the window. Now she refuses to do that.
