Lions Club Golf Outing Memorial Fundraiser Sept. 9

The 16th annual Lions Club Golf Outing Memorial Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Gladwin Heights Golf Course. 8-8:30 a.m. will be sign-up, 9 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes for flight winners, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, putting contest. Awards will follow outing.

Taylor Bonham wins Queens Contest at Midland County Fair

BEAVERTON Taylor Bonham is a senior at Beaverton High School who won the Queens Contest at the Midland County Fair this year. This is her third year running in the contest, beating out over 30 other contestants. The reason she decided to enter the contest was to get out of her comfort zone.

The Central Michigan District Health Department will be hosting the 14th Annual Central Michigan HIV/AIDS 5k Walk/ Run. The event will be held at Island Park in Mt Pleasant on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Volunteers wanted for stream sampling

Volunteers will be back in the Cedar River this fall to determine the river’s water quality by looking at the macroinvertebrates living in the water. Little Forks Conservancy is seeking volunteers for this stream sampling day on Saturday, September 16. Volunteers will meet at 10 a.m.

GLADWIN COUNTY The 78th Foutch Family reunion was held on July 29, 2023, at the Sage Township Hall. It began at 1:03 p.m. The Lord’s Prayer was recited by everyone prior to the meal. There were 67 in attendance.

The Nature Conservancy’s 2023 Photo Contest

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has announced an expansion of its renowned global Photo Contest to include double the number of categories and local prizes for photos taken in Michigan. TNC will begin accepting Photo Contest entries Aug. 30 through Sept. 29 and there is no cost to enter.
