Church Softball League to start

GLADWIN COUNTYThe Church Softball League is looking for singles or teams to play this summer on a co-ed team.They play on Monday nights at the Gladwin Softball Complex, 6:30 p.m., with prayer at 6:25 p.m. You must be 14 years old. The league starts June 3.

The attached photo is one I recently restored. It was taken in front of the Beaverton City School that opened in 1908. I have no documentation for this photo, no date and no indication of the occasion for which the photo was taken.

Free Second Saturday Supper upcoming

GLADWINThere will be a Free Second Saturday Supper held on Saturday, June 8 at the New Beginnings Methodist Church, located at 309 S. M-18, Gladwin, across from Loose Motor Sales, the old Ford dealership. Look for the three large crosses at the entrance.This will be a takeout only meal.

Annual ORV Fun Fest registration available

GLADWINThe 11th annual Gladwin County Orv Fun Fest is slated for August 17, 2024 at the Gladwin Fairgrounds. The event will include a 70 plus mile ride, food, and prizes. The ride will begin with a parade through Gladwin before heading to the trails.

Beaverton team compete and win at Mint 400 off-road race

GLADWINBeaverton native Troy Evans and his son Nicolas Evans were the recent winners of the Mint 400, a 400 mile annual off-road marathon race that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 6-10. Participating in the race were 431 vehicles and 1125 racers.
