Annual Gladwin County Winter Carnival slated

GLADWINThe third annual Gladwin County Winter Carnival will take place on January 17, 2025 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 751 M-18, from 3-6 p.m.The event includes free hats, gloves, and scarves. There will also be a storytime by the Gladwin County District Library from 3:30-3:45 p.m.

It has been said that Catholics learn wrote prayers while non-Catholics learn the Bible. Let’s take a look at that and see if we don’t do both. The Rosary is a wonderful meditative prayer that is based on the Bible. It begins with the Sign of the Cross, reaffirming the Trinity, purely Biblical.

The Beaverton High School 9-12 Student Government Association planned a food drive for their first home basketball game prior to Thanksgiving. They wanted to support the community and canned goods were donated to the Sacred Heart Mission.

GLADWINThe Gladwin Kiwanis Club has received the shipment of gourmet nuts for this holiday season. These are quality nuts with no peanuts added and make excellent gifts.Also available are decorated tins of assorted chocolate covered goodies.
The Gladwin Community Arena received a grant from the Kim Allen Morton Private Foundation and purchased an air-cooled condenser for the arena.

Ijumped into my “Comfy Chair “ and realized we were in the midst of the holiday season! Some people feel it starts with Halloween and ends on New Year’s Day, but I believe it starts on Thanksgiving! There are some 26 holidays or observances in this season.
