A Northern Tradition returns in April

HARRISONThe 22nd annual A Northern Tradition, a fundraiser for Mid Michigan College sponsored by Jay’s Sporting Goods, will take place 5-8 p.m., Sunday, April 13 in Clare. Over the past 20 years, this cherished event has raised more than $1.7 million to benefit students at Mid Michigan College.

SLANSINGtate biologists on Wednesday confirmed the existence of two cougar cubs on private land in Ontonagon County in the western Upper Peninsula. The spotted cubs, believed to be 7 to 9 weeks old, were verified from photographic evidence of the cubs taken March 6 by a local resident.

GLADWINThe Gladwin Area Community Band (GACB), which premiered in 2022, began rehearsing on March 9 for its next concert. Musicians of all ages from Gladwin and the surrounding area are invited and encouraged to join the group as it prepares for the spring event.
