BOB FREIGLADWIN COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETYThe second iteration of Gladwin’s Star Theater building began when a crew of 10 men started construction of the new building in the middle of April, 1935. They built the walls and roof around the old building while it remained open and showing films.

Estate Planning seminar July 9

GLADWINAn Estate Planning seminar will be held on July 9, 1 p.m., at Antler Arms, located at 215 S. Antler St. in Gladwin, in the dining center. Topics will include avoiding scams, wills versus trusts, powers of attorney, Lady Bird deeds, and strategies for avoiding probate.

Northeast Michigan Baseball Reunion and Hall of Fame Induction

PINCONNINGThe Northeast Michigan (NEM) baseball league hosted its 29th Annual Reunion on June 22, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Cheese House in Pinconning, Michigan.Approximately 120 persons attended this year’s reunion.The NEM baseball league began in 1916 and lasted until 1986.

Fish and Shrimp dinner to support Backpack Buddies

GLADWINThe Gladwin Knights of Columbus Fish and Shrimp Dinner, benefitting Gladwin’s Backpack Buddies Program, will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, 4-7 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 751 S. M-18.
