Aug. 16 is a day for Joe Persky to remember. While golfing at Devil’s Knob, he used an #8 iron and a Visa ball to ace the #4 hole. Witnesses Richard Ward and Scott Furgeson reported that the ball went past the pole, spun around, and rolled into the hole.

Beaverton football opens practice on Monday

The Beaverton High School Athletic Department is reminding football players that practice begins on Monday, Aug. 10, and will run from 4-7:30 p.m. at the school.Players will need only their helmet, cleats, mouthguard and workout apparel for the first two days of practice.
