LANSING Isle Royale National Park was one of the least-visited U.S. national parks in 2022, with only 25,454 recreational visitors. It’s the fifth least-visited park in the country. But some people, like Visit Keweenaw Executive Director Brad Barnett, celebrate this sparsity of attention.

Two people were arrested Saturday, March 11, for possessing illegal firearms and drugs after a Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officer conducted a traffic stop in a remote area of the Pigeon River Country State Forest, in Otsego County.
