BEAVERTON After a day of cold, wet almost winter like weather causing games to be rescheduled throughout the state, the Lady Beavers softball team finally took the field to host their first of back-toback conference games on Wednesday evening, rather than the scheduled Tuesday afternoon.

GLADWIN The Jack Pine Conference season kicked off Thursday night for Gladwin, hosting a doubleheader against the Harrison Hornets. The Flying G’s won both games, defeating the hornets in 10-0 shutout for the first game.

BEAVERTON Wednesday night, the Grand Opening! Beaverton’s newly reconstructed track was the star last Wednesday as the Beavers hosted the Flying G’s of Gladwin and the Pioneers of Clare for a Jack Pine Conference Track and Field extravaganza.

On April 28, at the Mt. Pleasant Invite, Caleb Palmreuter broke the Gladwin High School 1600m run record that was set in 1985 with a time of 4:23.34.

BEAVERTON The Beaverton softball team traveled to Farwell on Thursday night for their conference opener against the Farwell Eagles. The trip was a success, Beaverton returning home with two victories added to their record.

GLADWIN Anna Seebeck entered an exclusive club last Wednesday, joining Gladwin’s elite in girls soccer. Seebeck made the 100th goal of her high school soccer career. The milestone was set during Gladwin’s trip to Roscommon Wednesday night, defeating the Roscommon Bucks 8-0.

Gladwin Little League started its season on April 29. A parade through Gladwin, from the Gladwin County Courthouse to Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, to the fairgrounds, and ending at the Sports Complex. An opening ceremony preceded the scheduled games.

Ferris State University Disc Golf Team members earn All-American honors at national championships

BIG RAPIDS Ferris State University disc golf competitors earned two All-American-qualifying performances and a top-10 finish at the College Disc Golf National Championship in Marion, NC, April 5-8. College of Pharmacy student Rachel Dupre, of Gladwin, continued her success in major events.

GLADWIN The Lady G’s of softball opened conference play Thursday night, defending their home turf against the Harrison Hornets with two victories. The girls triumphed over the Hornets with a 10-0 shutout in game one.
