LANSINGIn February, 18-year-old Detroit Northwestern High School athlete Cartier Woods died a week after he suffered cardiac arrest during a basketball game, according to the Detroit Public Schools Community District.Woods immediately received CPR while EMTs were en route to the gym.

Beaverton senior point guard Layk Woodruff led the Jack Pine Conference in scoring with a total of 295 points in 14 league games for an average of 21.1 and earned First Team All-Conference honors for the second year in a row.

Gladwin dance bring home awards in Detroit Competition

The Gail Wildfong School of Dance started off their competition season this March in Detroit with Breakout Dance and brought home many awards. Each of the routines taken by the studio performed amazingly well on stage, with many receiving extra recognition and awards beyond their adjudication score.
