The new-look Jack Pine Conference was more than a little top-heavy in softball this season.
Shepherd, Standish, Bullock Creek and Clare all won district championships and the JPC champ Pioneers rolled all the way to the Division 3 state championship game before losing 5-4 to Grass Lake to place second.
