Wanda Lee Wilson

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Wanda Lee Wilson, of Troy, Michigan, formerly of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the evening hours of Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at her son and daughter-in-law’s residence in Troy, Michigan. Age 95 years. Wanda was born on May 19, 1928 in Clarkton, Missouri to the late Floy and Emma (Adams) Hall. Wanda was a 1946 graduate of Clarkton High School in Clarkton, Missouri. In the same year following school, Wanda moved to Michigan where she married and would soon be blessed with three children. After 30 years of service on the assembly line, Wanda retired in 1976 from Pontiac Motors. In 1975 Wanda married her loving husband, Charles Wilson, and he preceded her in death in December of 2017. Charles and Wanda were married nearly 43 years. Wanda enjoyed attending church and was a long-time member of the Wagarville United Methodist Church in Gladwin. In her younger years, Wanda loved singing in a quartet with her father, uncle, and sister; they would sing at churches and other venues, filling all with joy. She was also gifted at playing the organ and piano. Wanda’s loved flowers and spent much of her time gardening; when she moved to Troy with her son and daughter-in-law, she eagerly jumped in to help with their garden. Wanda will be missed dearly by all, and her memories will be cherished forever.

Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Terrance (Diana) Harper of Troy, MI, Kelly Dean Harper of Huntsville, AL, and Beverly Klein of Sarasota, FL; two grandsons, Michael (Alexandrea) Harper and Aaron (Holly) Board; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Harper, and Riley Board and Lilah Board; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Wanda is happily reunited with her husband, Charles Wilson, Sr.; parents, Floy and Emma (Adams) Hall; siblings, Robert Thomas “R.T.” Hall, Eugene Welton Hall, William Randal Hall, William Dale Hall, and Helen Virginia Scheider.

Wanda’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Michigan for the extraordinary care and compassion provided to Wanda and their family; playing with the dogs always put a smile on Wanda’s face.
