Shirley V. Carlson, age 95, of Gladwin, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at MyMichigan-Gladwin following a brief illness.
She was born in Detroit on December 29, 1027 to the late Roy and Hazel (Raymond) Champagne.
She married Maynard Carlson on June 7, 1947, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Roseville, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by her children, Sandy and Bob Schloss, Barry and Patty Carlson, and Jeff and Jacquelyn Carlson; grandchildren: Keri, Kevin, Kris, Keith, and Kallie; Ryan and Tiffani; Nathan and Sarah; Ashley and Cody; Jennifer and Mike. Great-grandchildren: Brett, Kayleigh, Breanna, Addison, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Randi, Adriene, Ian, Luna, Lawson, Evan, Leira, Larry, Adam, Aveary, Bianca, Jayden, Jaleiya, and Mariah. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Foster.
Shirley enjoyed growing up near Lake St. Clair area.
We loved being on the boat and water skiing at the age of 70 years old, and especially spending time with her loving family. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, at 12 p.m., at the Christ the King Lutheran Church. Pastor Emily Olsen is presiding with inurnment in the church columbarium. Family will greet friends at the church on Friday, from 11 a.m., until time of services.
