Robert (Bob) Arthur Atwater
Robert (Bob) Arthur Atwater, age 88 passed away with his girls by his side on August 1, 2025. Bob was born on May 20, 1937 to Cyrus B. and Irene B. Atwater of Bay City, Michigan. On August 25, 1956, Bob married the love of his life, Wanda Marie Parker, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. She predeceased him. Bob is survived by his girls: Connie McCullough, Sue Atwater, Jeannette (Raymond) Ruediger, and Sherry (Mike) Spence. He is also survived by brothers: Thomas Atwater, and Clifford (Isabelle) Atwater; his grandchildren: Len (Jane) Schmidt, Brandi Ruediger, Jeremy (Gloriane) Schmidt, Josh (Ashley) Constantino, and Bryan (Megan) Ruediger: as well as six great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgranddaughter; brother-inlaw, Fred Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was welcomed home to heaven by his beloved wife, Wanda; son-in-law, Biff McCullough; his parents; sisters: Doris (Charles) Bryant, and Elaine (Paul) Briggs; as well as several brothers-in-law, and sistersin- law.
Bob was a faithful member of the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, where he served in many capacities. He was passionate about his family, and especially proud of his girls. He was a lifelong camper who loved the outdoors and travel, especially by motorcycle. Together, he and Wanda enjoyed woodworking and traveling to craft shows. His girls would also like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cranberry Park and Swan Hospice, for their loving care. He is greatly missed by his daughters, family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, at Beaverton Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with the service beginning at 12 p.m. A luncheon will be served at the church, immediately following.
