Richard “Dick” Sidney Berry
Richard “Dick” Sidney Berry age 82 of Harrison passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Richard was born July 4, 1943, in Gladwin, Michigan the son of Gretta Mae (Switzer) Berry and Burton Leo Berry. Mr.
Berry spent 30 years with General Motors Corporation as a forklift operator and merchandise controller. On May 1, 1995, Dick was united in marriage to Mildred “Milie” Ann Smith. Dick had resided in Harrison since 1999, moving from Swartz Creek, Michigan.
Dick was a member of the Clare Church of the Nazarene and Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235 for many years. He was an avid bowler, card player and Detroit Tigers fan. Dick was passionate about repairing and refurbishing tractors and caring for his yard.
Surviving Mr. Berry is his loving wife of 30 years, Mrs. Mildred “Millie” Ann Berry of Harrison; his nine children: Linda Cook and husband Craig of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; Dianna Burton and husband Dennis of Howell, Michigan; Michael Kulig and wife Marcia of Ypsilanti, Michigan; Matthew Kulig and wife Kimmy of Verona, Kentucky; Adam Kulig of Palm Harbor, Florida; Melanie Pobocik and husband Aaron of Orlando, Florida; Christopher Smith and wife Brenda of Davison, Michigan; Darren Smith and wife Shannon also of Davison; and Melissa Wood and husband Robert of Harrison; 18 grandchildren: Andie, Drew, Devon, Kristin, Marissa, Miranda, Micah, Alexandra, Zachary, Jacob, Ava, Joshua, Madison, Olivia, Daniel, Roger, Kyle and Brooke; 13 great-grandchildren: Levi, Autumn, Kenzie, Charlie, Bodhi, Amelia, Orion, Erin, Roger Jr., Chloe, Arianna,Ian and Sofia; his cousin and best friend, Wayne Switzer of Harrison; plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: William Berry, Glenn Berry, and Floyd Berry.
Funeral services honoring Mr. Berry were held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 West Oak Street, Harrison with Pastor Tim Fall officiating. Visitation took place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 11 a.m. until time of service. Cremation immediately followed services.
