Mildred Louise (Briggs) Carr, born April 17, 1926 in Greenbrier, Tennessee, died March 3, 2024 the oldest daughter of Ira and Loraine Briggs.
Survivors’ son Thomas, (Tommy), (daughter-in-law Cindy) daughter Gwendolynne, (Gwen), (son-inlaw Greg); grandchildren, Felicia (Renee), Christina (Chrissy, husband Tobin) Michael, Stacy, Jason, and Christopher (wife, Emily); great-grandchildren Anthony John (A.J.) Ashley, (Renee) Brittney (Britt), Brandon, (Christina) Shyanne, Jamie, (Michael) and Willow (Stacy); great-greatgrandchildren: Tatum, Juliana, Taryn, Teagan, Kaileena, Amberyl, Liam, Carter, Kinsey, Cole; sisters: Betty Callis, Beverly Scurlock, and Judy Morris; brothers: Maurice Briggs and Jerry Briggs and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by parents, Ira Luskey Briggs and Loraine Blanche (Leftwich) Briggs; son Johnny Watt Carr Jr; and grandson Nathan Andrew Cleveland; brothers: Vernon Briggs, Bobby Briggs and Milton (Kemp) Briggs; sisters: Edna Kirby and Faye Adcock Mom retired from Fords in 1989 and moved up to what she called “God’s Country” enjoying the outdoors, fishing, gardening, walking, caring for her family and friends. Granny loved to make things, enjoying crafts, sewing (especially making quilts), cooking, traveling and visiting.
Granny was a generous, selfless, independent and loving person, who showed it on a daily basis and a person you could always rely on.
We will miss you mom, granny, great-granny, greatgreat- granny, aunt and sister.
May we all be a better person from the testimony and legacy you have left behind.
