Lloyd Dale Fetterolf Jr.

Lloyd Dale Fetterolf Jr. passed away in his home Aug. 24, 2026 with family and his loyal companion Ice, whose comfort was beyond comparison in his final days.

Lloyd was born on June 3, 1963 as he loved to say and grew up in the Gladwin/Beaverton area. Lloyd was often traveling across the state to cast a line for walleye and salmon, sometimes hiding in the cattails and reeds to call in ducks and geese, to waiting, sometimes napping, waiting on the big doe or buck to get within range, Lloyd’s passion for the great outdoors was easy to see.

Everyone around him joined in his enthusiasm for the splendor of Michigan. His quick laughter, smack talk, and loving spirit put those around him at ease bringing his own brand of love to his family and community.

When you are surrounded by nature and you hear the cry of a loon, a fish jumping to catch a May fly, hear the sound of a gaggle of geese, or the snort of a Buck, know that Lloyd’s spirit is with you. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Fetterolf Senior and by his decades-long love, Frances Traxler.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie; brother, Mike and wife, Alice; niece, Sonya; daughter, Misty Lindquist and husband, Keith, and their children: Monica, Mia, and Mark, Kaiden and Davien; along with a fisherman’s daily limit of grandchildren; son, Randy Traxler and wife, Erica; and their children: Jasmine and Makayla; and son, Jon Traxler and wife, Amber; and their children: Jersey and Caiden; daughter, Sara and daughters: Hailey and Hannah. His faithful companion Ice, the big lovable oaf of an Am-Staff mourns his best friend every day under the care of the family.

In lieu of flowers and cards, the family asks that you honor his legacy and provide food to those who may be facing food scarcity or in need.

Sportsmen Against Hunger is also a nonprofit that brings sportsmen and processors together to assist those who may be struggling to find their next meal. The family will announce arrangements for a gathering in his honor at a later time.
