Ethal Ruth Sharp-Emrick
Ethal Ruth Sharp-Emrick, our precious mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2023.
She was two months shy of her 102nd birthday.
Ethal was born in Gladwin, Michigan on March 3, 1921, to Jesse and Sophia Thomas. Ethal was a devout Christian and talented homemaker. She loved shopping, camping, fishing, traveling, and being with her family. Her quick wit and great smile will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Sharp, who she was married to for 56 years.
Together they had five children: Dorothy (John) Foor, the late June (Jim) Donahue, the late Phyllis (Russ) Allen, Linda (Chuck) Newman, and Tom (Janet) Sharp. Ethal is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her second husband, Lyle Emrick, and her brothers, Wendell, Edmond, and Alfred, and sister, Dora Sullivan.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home and Compassus Hospice for their loving care.
A funeral service took place on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel with, her son, Thomas Sharp officiating.
Family greeted friends on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Visitation was on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel from 2-8 pm. Interment took place at Highland Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel. Memorial donations can be to Compassus Hospice.
