Douglas Charles Cameron

Douglas Charles Cameron of Gladwin, Michigan passed away on April 29, 2025 in Detroit, MI after a two year battle with cancer.

He had an amazing will to live and surpassed most odds with constant goals of being there for the next big life event in his family.

He was born to Charles and Armeda (Steele) Cameron on January 25, 1946. He married his soulmate, Sally Fischer on July 15, 1967.

It is incredibly hard to sum up the influence and impact Doug made on anyone he came in contact with. He came back from Viet Nam severely injured and in all of the years in his life never complained about his experience and how it impacted his life. He could easily strike a conversation with anyone he came in contact with, leaving an impact with his sense of humor and loving nature, not to mention those twinkling blue eyes and beautiful head of hair.

He was a favorite among his family and friends. You never left his side without feeling loved, heard and a want to be a better human being.

Doug is survived by his soul mate, Sally Cameron.

His legacy is his sons: Kevin (Heather) Cameron, Kyle (Lori) Cameron, and Kirt (Nicole) Cameron. Grandchildren: Jacob (Kim) Cameron, Jade (Jared) Frasher, Kasey (Hannah) Cameron, Justin (Emily) Cameron, Shianne Cameron, Karlie Cameron, Jordan Hilliard, Bailey (Nicole) Hilliard, Oliver (Mercedes) Hilliard, and Terry (Cassie) Hilliard.

Great-grandchildren: Sawyer and Baby Cameron, Hattie and Maeve Frasher, Kooper and Bayleigh Cameron, Ryan, Noah, Bryson, Oakley and Brantlee Hilliard.

He is survived by brother, Denny (Jean) Cameron; sisters: Marilyn David, Deb (Ray) Onweller, Vicki (Mike) Simrau; brotherin- law, Mark Zeitz; sistersin- law: Carol (Randy) Ivey, Mary Richmond, and Barb (Ken) Uhl; many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nancy Zeitz; brothers-in-law: Raymond David, and Ralph Richmond; nephews: Torrey David and Jeff Cameron.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 2:-8 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, in Gladwin.
