Daniel August Clarke, 83, of Gladwin, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, died Monday, November 21, 2022.
Dan was born in New Orleans, LA on August 26, 1939, the son of the late Dallas and Veronica (Baltzer) Clarke. On September 17, 1976 he married Frances Heffron (Dood).
Dan served in the US Navy for over 10 years. Following his service to the country, Dan worked as a Lineman for Consumers Power Company, where he worked for more than 35 years before retiring in 2000.
During retirement, you could find Dan on the golf course most days. If Dan wasn’t out golfing you could find him fishing, playing cards or greeting members at the Sugar Springs activity center where he worked over the last few years.
Dan is survived by his wife, Fran; children, Della (Scott) Pretzer, Danielle (Shaun Turner) Fletcher, Dallas (Nikki) Clarke and Carrie Sue (Anthony) Renner; step-children, Kimberly Kern, Maribeth Heffron, and Timothy (Tiffany) Heffron. Also surviving Dan are several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Lee-Ramsay Gladwin Chapel, 135 N. Silverleaf St., Gladwin, Michigan 48624 on Thursday December 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
