Clyde Henry Grant

Clyde Henry Grant passed away February 14, 2023, at the age of 99 while living at Rosebush Manor, in Rosebush, Michigan.

He was born on March 19, 1923 to the late Jess and Leone Grant (Yost).

He is survived by his daughter Denise Anderson of Mason, Ohio; son, Roger Grant of Rockford, Michigan; sister, Fay Ann Beckrow of Mayville, Michigan; granddaughter, Julie Thelen, of Belding, Michigan; grandson, Darrel Anderson of Cincinnati, Ohio; and great grandson, Jimmy Roach of Sparta, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Genevieve Grant (Foster), and second wife, Marion Grant (Nunn); brother, Claude Grant; and brother, DJ Yost. He was born on his Mother’s sixteenth birthday, and his granddaughter, Julie, was born on their birthday.

Clyde graduated from Beaverton High School in 1942, started working at the Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan, but soon joined the Army for three years, and after training was sent to support troops in Europe after D-Day, with the recovering of damaged tanks and as a motorcycle courier.

Upon discharge he resided near Beaverton, Michigan, and retired from Dow after 35 years, then continued in aircraft repair as a business. He owned and flew airplanes for 62 years, until the age of 86. Many people around Beaverton took an airplane ride with him.
