The Gladwin junior varsity volleyball team advanced all the way to the finals of a tournament at Tawas Saturday before winding up in second place after a 25-25, 25-19 loss to Saginaw Heritage.
The Flying G’s beat Tawas 26-24, 17-25, 15-10 in the semifinals.
They placed second in pool play after splitting with Heritage 22-25, 25-19 and Au Gres 25-8, 22-25 before sweeping Whittemore 25-6, 25-12.
