While the proposed 2024 Department of Veterans Affairs budget increase of 5 percent sounds good, it’s actually the lowest hike they’ve seen in nearly 10 years. The president claims that there is a “sacred obligation” to support veterans and that $325 billion will do just that.
As always, the devil is in the details, and that budget would cut into critical VA programs to the tune of 22 percent.
