    GLADWIN COUNTY

    Several members and guests of the Gladwin American Legion Post 171 took a trip to Muskegon and toured the U.S. Navy submarine U.S.S. Silversides, SS-236. This submarine is credited with the sinking of 23 enemy vessels during WWII and was awarded two battle stars and a Presidential Unit Citation.
