At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, Beaverton Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Tonkin Street, in the City of Beaverton, for a residential structure fire. Crews arrived on scene to find a fully engulfed, single story, residential structure, and after a primary search was determined to be unoccupied. Assistance was provided by both Billings and Gladwin Fire Departments. The fire was extinguished and nearby structures were unharmed. One minor injury was sustained by a firefighter on scene who was treated and transported by EMS. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Beaverton Police Department and the Michigan State Police.
