GLADWIN COUNTYAlthough the Summer Reading Program is coming to an end, this August, the Gladwin County District Library (GCDL) is continuing the fun! Not only will we be hosting some fun one-day events, but we will have some special day camps and a tasty new program starting as well.

Over 140 miles of streams reconnected so far in grant project

LANSINGThe Michigan Department of Natural Resources, with help from many conservation partners, is halfway through completion of a $5 million grant project to remove 27 stream barriers, including 16 DNR-managed dams. Efforts to date have reconnected more than 140 miles of streams.

Russell and Joyce Smith were married on August 12, 1960 in Hollywood, California, at the Hope Lutheran Church. They lived in Gladwin for 50 years and now reside in Harrison. Their children are: Rusty (Beth) Smith, Gladwin; Lisa Schwager, Midland; and Angela (David) Pendergraft, GA.

Larry and Debbie Crawford were married Aug. 23, 1975 at the Church of the Nazarene in Gladwin. They have two children: Lindsay Parsons of Sturgis.

GBCFD to be held at ChristThe King Aug. 16

GLADWINThe Gladwin/Beaverton Community Food Distribution (GBCFD) will continue hosting distributions the third Saturday of each month in 2025, with its next distribution being on Saturday, August 16, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 S. M-18, Gladwin.
