I was napping in my “Comfy Chair,” my favorite pastime, and I woke up at 9:30 p.m. I realized I had not done the day’s dishes or unloaded yesterday’s. Due to life’s ever-evolving circumstances, I have been stepping up to do many domestic duties.
“Shake the Room” received Elite Platinum, second overall in the petite duo/trio division, and a $500 scholarship.

GLADWINFamily Fun Festival, sponsored by the Gladwin Church of the Nazarene, will take place on May 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gladwin County Fairgrounds, 401 S. State St.A Versiti Blood Drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.The event will also feature a silent auction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.
Funding for the “Look Twice. Save a Life.” campaign comes from the Motorcycle Safety and Education Awareness Fund, created by the Michigan Legislature in 2017. The fund is financed by $2.50 from each original motorcycle endorsement and $2 from each motorcycle endorsement renewal.

GLADWINThe Memorial Day Parade will assemble at 10 a.m. at the corner of East Cedar (M-61) and South State Street. The parade will march to the courthouse, leaving the assembly area at approximately 10:35 a.m.The program at the courthouse will begin at 11 a.m.

LANSINGIf you have an oak tree, put your saw and your pruners down. Due to the possibility of beetles spreading oak wilt fungus from tree to tree, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources advises homeowners and landowners not to trim or prune any oak trees from April 15-July 15.
Volunteers play a vital role in citizen science projects like this. This stream monitoring effort is part of the Little Forks Conservancy’s broader mission to protect and enhance land and water resources in the region.
