The photo (at left) is not from the first edition of The Record. It is from just over 115 years ago, as The Record was finishing its 32rd year of regular publication. What makes it interesting is that it recalls the very beginning of the publication, in the words of its founder, James S. Holden, who was still alive when this article published.
