GLADWIN – February is going to be “Dyno-Mite” at The Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre (GAFT) Gala Fundraiser. GAFT is planning its third annual Fundraising Gala. This year the theme is the “Dyno-mite 70’s”
GAFT is seeking singers, game show hosts, dancers and “celebrities” from the 70’s to participate to create an evening that is totally hip and cool. Pull out those outfits you have stored in boxes from your high school/college days and relive the 70’s at this gala. GAFT invites and encourages all community members to be a part of this event. Experience and relive the “disco, rock and blacklight” era in music, gameshows of the 70’s, and the fashion. Don the biggest bell-bottoms, tunics, culottes, showing chest hair, medallions, polyester, butterfly collars, skin-tight t-shirts, sandals, leisure suits, flower patterned dress shirts, sideburns and, yes – tennis headbands.
Are you an epic disco dancer? Sing like Linda Ronstadt, Gladys Knight, Bob Marley, Elton John, Alice Cooper? Or are you a band that can rock like Pink Floyd, Kool & the Gang, Brownsville Station or the Rolling Stones? Or a Bob Barker, Gene Rayburn ans Chuck Barris? The opportunities are endless on who you could be!
Bring your character/talent or ideas to the auditions on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. to the Community Building at the Gladwin City Park entrance – come out and strut your stuff.
