On May 18, the Gladwin County 4-H Program in partnership with the Gladwin County Farm Bureau, taught the third-grade classes of the Gladwin County Intermediate schools how to grow the plants that would be used to make pizza. Each child received an individual kit filled with seeds, planting materials, and fun information. During the day, the Gladwin County 4-H Program Coordinator contacted each class to teach the Pizza Garden lesson via video call.
The Gladwin County Farm Bureau also provided a fun pizza magazine with experiments and cool information the youth could take home and share. The youth enjoyed learning about the fruits and vegetables that go into making a pizza and can’t wait to see what happens to their plants as they grow. The Gladwin County 4-H Program would like to thank the Gladwin County Farm Bureau for their support of this program.
