Splash Park phase two

GLADWIN COUNTY – On Tuesday, July 21 the Gladwin Rotary Club hosted the District Governor for District 6310, Mr. Randy Ettema. The Club moved from its normal meeting spot in Gladwin to Ross Lake Park in Beaverton to show off the Rotary Splash Park. Randy explained to the club his visions for his year as District Governor as the group enjoyed lunch and fellowship. If you are interested in learning more about Rotary, please contact Karen Moore, President at RotaryMoore@gmail.com or Joyce Swartzmiller, Membership Chairperson, at 989-435-7122.

Of course, hearing the children playing at the Splash Park during their meeting was an added bonus for the club. While the Splash Park is up and operational, there is a second phase that the Gladwin Rotary Club is fundraising for. This will include a changing area, benches and other items to make the park even more enjoyable. They have the opportunity to get a 90 percent matching grant; therefore every dollar raised turns into $10. If you’d like to contribute to the project, please contact Splash Park Committee Chairperson, Richard Beadle at 989-426-2678.
