GLADWIN COUNTY – The Gladwin Rotary Club is pleased to announce it has established the Ken Kerswill Gladwin Rotary Scholarship Fund. Rotary will be providing $500 college scholarships to two Gladwin County seniors starting with the 2021 graduating class.

Successful candidates will be selected based on these seven parameters and criteria:

- Rotary four way test essay: write a one page essay on “what the four way test means to me.” The four way test asks four questions: is it truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? And will it be beneficial to all concerned?

- Rotary connection.

- Extracurricular activities.

- Work experience.

- Community service.

- Grade Point Average.

- Financial need.

Applications must be submitted by February 15, 2021. The applications may be mailed to P.O. Box 30, Gladwin, MI 48624.

Gladwin Rotary is always looking for like-minded community members to join in their efforts to improve the world, locally, nationally and internationally. Join the Gladwin Rotary Club at a meeting to see if rotary is for you! The group normally meets on Tuesdays at noon at the Riverwalk Grill in Gladwin, however, through the shutdown they are meeting via Zoom.

The rotary motto is “service above self,” so if that’s you and if you are interested in learning more about Gladwin Rotary, please contact Karen Moore, President at RotaryMoore@gmail.com or Joyce Swartzmiller, Membership Chairperson, at 989-435-7122. We’d be happy to have you join our Zoom meetings until we can meet again in person.
