GLADWIN COUNTY – Both branches of the Library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18 in honor of Presidents’ Day. Story Time continues at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays in Gladwin, Thursdays and Fridays in Beaverton. Enjoy an hour of Yoga at the BAC Thursdays from 7:15-8:15 a.m. There will be Bingo at the BAC Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. 

In Gladwin, the GCDL Book Discussion of ‘The Women in the Castle’ by Jessica Shattuck will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday Feb. 19. There will be a painting class in Gladwin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20. The fee for the class will be $35 with a $10 deposit to reserve your space. Call 989-426-8221 to add your name to the list. The theme for the March, 4, Laurel Breault Booked for Lunch session will be ‘Maple Syrup’, a presentation by the Chippewa Nature Center. Lunch, which costs $10, and will be served at 11 a.m., while the free lecture begins at noon. Call 989-426-8221 for a reservation. If you order lunch and don’t come, you will still be responsible for the cost.

The Gladwin County Genealogical Society Inc. is located on the upper floor of the Gladwin Library Building. Their hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Library Friends’ Used Book Store is open whenever the ‘Book-Store-Open’ sign is displayed. The usual Store hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 1-5 p.m. and Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2-4:30 pm. The Used Book Store is closed whenever the District Library is closed. When Booked for Lunch is scheduled, the store will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accommodate customers. Adult books are fifty cents each, paperback or hardcover. Books for children and young adults are three for a quarter. Library hours are Beaverton: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Gladwin: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
