The Gladwin County Genealogical Society Inc. was established with the goals of working with people interested in the search for their ancestry. Members come and go but the society continues to grow and collect resources for others to use in finding their families. We have good volunteers who can assist you in one way or another. If you are coming to our genealogy rooms with whatever your search is for, we can help you or point you in the right direction to do your search. If we have the time, we may give you some help by looking up one source while you are doing another.

Help is free, use of the room is free. The only charges are for the copies you make. If someone wants US to do their research for them or break down a brick wall you just can’t do, we do have a research fee of $10/hour with a minimum of two hours. We depend on copy charges, membership fees and research grants along with donations to keep our funds in good order.

We contribute financially to for the Library as a cooperative effort, assisting in purchases of expensive items, for example. Membership is $10 individual; $15 Couple; Life membership under age 65 is $100, for 65 and older is $50. We welcome everyone.
