4-H youth work on showmanship by using practice sheep and swine.

GLADWIN – Gladwin County 4-H youth recently spent the evening learning showmanship. Nathan Ernst, a former MSU Judging Team Member and Alumni, offered his time and expertise to the 4-H youth of Gladwin County in showmanship. Nathan spent two hours with youth showing them the proper way to handle and present themselves and their animals in the show arena.

Youth worked on both sheep and swine showmanship skills all while learning the newest techniques judges are looking for when a showman walks in the rink. In total forty 4-H youth and parents attended the training and walked away with new skills in showmanship. We hope to see all our youth apply these skills at the Gladwin County Fair arena as they work to become the best showman they can.
