GLADWIN – Once again, the Seebeck Family Charitable Fund (SFF) will be handling ‘Gifts for Teens’ for Christmas. This year, something different is in the works.
Instead of buying gifts or having gifts donated, SFF will be buying gift cards and asking anyone that wishes to donate to please donate gift cards or send a check and they will buy the gift cards for you.
The thought behind this is that prices keep going up on gifts suitable for teens and what $25 used to buy, now costs $30 or more. So by SFF buying gift cards and asking that gift cards be donated, each teen will get a card to equal $25 to purchase something that they would really like.
Gift cards can be in any amount as SFF will combine them to make $25.
As in the past, teens 15, 16, 17, and 18 are not included in other programs. That was the principal reason SFF started the ‘Gifts for Teens’ program, so that all kids – regardless of age – would have something to open on Christmas day.
The cards will be distributed in the same was as in the past years. SFF is hoping this new way of doing an old program will resonate with everyone who has donated in the past and will continue to support the new way of doing it.
Checks made out to SFF General Fund to buy cards can be sent to SFF 4767 Sylvan Grove Dr., Gladwin, Mich., 48624.
Gift cards can be dropped off at Chemical Bank in Beaverton, or either Chemical Bank in Gladwin. Please include your name and address so that a thank you can be sent.
All checks and gift cards are needed by Dec. 15 in order for them to be given out with the toys and clothes for Christmas distribution. That’s only about six weeks away, so please get your donations out as soon as possible.
The SFF is depending on you and so are the teens of Gladwin County. No child should go without a gift, regardless of age, and especially at Christmas.
