Hello everyone and welcome to spring, wow what a winter we had. Be very careful with the melting ice, if there’s any question just stay off it. In fact let me rephrase that…just stay off! Your Sheriff’s Office personnel have been busy this year handling about 3,500 calls for service already in 2019. Hardly a day goes by that someone wasn’t victimized by a scam.
People often say “don’t they have anything better to do” (referring to the scammers). Our response to that is, “no they don’t” (It’s all about the money) they call people all day long and sharpen their skill set until they find a person to stay on the phone. Each time they call you on the phone for even a minute they are gathering information about you. They may call you several times over a year or even two years, always gathering information about you. The calls don’t always come from the same person, sometime they are male, sometimes female, some broken English and some perfect English.
The key is ladies and gentlemen, they are slowly and methodically getting your information. They will attempt to gain a rapport with you and relay to you that they are friendly. The moment they get your personal information/money that all changes, they don’t care if it ruins you or that you are alive or dead. They are ruthless and they are certainly not your friend. Please communicate with your family’s friends and neighbors about this huge issue.
