GLADWIN COUNTY – On Monday, Dec. 11, Michigan Works! Region 7B Consortium gathered to celebrate their Employer of the Year Awards. The award is given to an employer who has exemplified utilizing Michigan Works! services to the best of their ability.

Roll-Rite was chosen as the Employer of the Year for Gladwin County, as they have been a long-standing employer in the area. Roll-Rite made a commitment to Gladwin County, in more ways than one, when they relocated their operation to the City of Gladwin in 2014.

Over the years, Roll-Rite has partnered with Michigan Works! and the Gladwin County Economic Development Corporation to recruit talent for their available positions, offer plant tours for local youth, and arranging co-ops and internships. Roll-Rite is considered a featured employer by the Gladwin County Economic Development Corporation. Their 68,000 sq. ft. Gladwin facility employs around 80 people and they are known for paying above average wages in the community. Roll-Rite has also utilized funding through Michigan Works! to update the skills of their existing workforce. Roll-Rite is a company that Michigan Works! looks forward to partnering with for many years to come.

Hayden Hager, an employee at Roll-Rite, was also honored at the awards ceremony for being the Alumni of the Year for Gladwin County. Hayden utilized the On-The-Job Training program through Michigan Works! to gain hands-on experience in his position at Roll-Rite, while the employer was reimbursed for a portion of his training wages. Roll-Rite considers Hayden a valued employee that is committed to showing up for work every day, learning more about the company, and serving customers in the best manner possible. The relationship between Hayden and Roll-Rite is proof that Michigan Works! services are beneficial to both the employer and employee. Roll-Rite, Hayden Hager, and Michigan Works! Region 7B Consortium have been selected to receive an Impact Award from the Michigan Works! Association as a result of this prosperous partnership. The Impact Awards will be given out in a ceremony held in February.
