Patrick F. Gallagher V, 40, of Wyandotte, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 4, 2012 of natural causes on the job in Caledonia, Ohio. He was employed as a semi driver for Swift Transportation. Born in Wayne County on May 28, 1972, he loved to travel and spent his junior high years living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, graduating in 1990. Nicknamed “Sunshine” by his mother for his vivacious personality, he enjoyed friends, video games, sci-fi movies, exploring old buildings, historical reenactment, nature, and his cats. He is survived by his son, Pat Gallagher of Southgate; parents, Bev (Jim) Shinavar- Jackson of Gladwin and Pat (Dawn) Gallagher of Wyandotte. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alcid H. and Virginia (Haller) Shinavar and Patrick F. and Blanche (Hobart) Gallagher, III; uncles, William F. Shinavar, 1991 and Alcid W. Shinavar, 2012. The Funeral Service was officiated by Fr. William Promesso of St. Cyprian Catholic Church, Riverview at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Kernan Funeral Home in Lincoln Park, with an earlier private showing for family and friends beginning at 5 p.m. His wish was to be cremated and the ashes remain with his son.
