GLADWIN COUNTY – A Midland County man is dead after a snowmobile crash Saturday night on Secord Lake.
According to a press release from the Gladwin County Sheriff Department, around 6:25 p.m., deputies responded to a reported snowmobile versus vehicle accident on Secord Lake in Secord Township.
The operator of the snowmobile, a 51-year-old man from Midland County, was thrown from the snowmobile, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year-old man from Midland County, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death. He was lodged in the Gladwin County Jail pending arraignment.
Police say the two men are related. Their names are being withheld at this time pending family notification and court proceedings.
The investigation as to the cause of the accident is still ongoing at this time, and more details will be provided as they become available.
