GLADWIN – Cooperative weather and an enthusiastic crowd helped make the 10th annual Gladwin Festival of Lights of Parade a huge success.
But most of the credit lies with Gladwin City Clerk Shannon Greaves and her committee for their hard work that began in the summer.
There were 86 entries and two balloons in the parade. Entries included floats, monster trucks, emergency first responders, the Gladwin High School Band, and more. Large balloons of Kermit the Frog and a Smurf joined the line-up.
“Best in Category” ratings were given in four categories: Church – The Springs Camp; Organization (3-way tie) – Gladwin County Historical Society, Gladwin Community Schools, and Mid Michigan Community College; Family – 2nd Mile Band/Mead family; and Business (3-way tie) – Triple M, Ann Marie’s, and Northside Hair Design.
