GLADWIN – Jim Emery, the former Beaverton teacher and coach who pled guilty to one count of Child Sexually Abusive Activity Sept. 4 in 55th Circuit Court, was back in court for sentencing Monday, but sentencing was adjourned.
“The court ordered an adjournment of Emery’s sentencing on its own motion,” Prosecutor Aaron Miller said. “Judge Mienk indicated he was seeking additional information added to the pre-sentence report.”
Emery was originally charged with two counts of Manufacturing Child Sexually Abusive Material; and two counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Felony.
Police say Emery, 60, used his smart phone to take a half-nude photo of the teen, and that he encouraged another 17-year-old to send him similar photos.
A new court date for sentencing has not yet been set.
