GLADWIN – The Gladwin Fire Department held an open house on Sept. 29 to mark the beginning of Fire Prevention Month, which began Oct. 1. Over 200 participants came to spray the fire hose, watch a vehicle extrication, crawl through the smoke house, examine the fire trucks, learn about fire safety, and meet Andy the Ambulance and Fire Pup. The Fire Dept. Auxiliary also held a bake sale at the event. The firefighters will be visiting school and pre-schools this month to promote fire safety.
