Farwell celebrates 104th annual Labor Day festivities

FARWELL — Looking for something fun and exciting to do during the Labor Day weekend? Why not attend the longest, continuous running festival in the state of Michigan. Farwell will be holding their 104th annual Labor Day celebration Sept. 3-6.

Activities for the weekend are as follows:

Friday, Sept. 3

• 3 p.m., Midway opens featuring Schmidt Amusements;

• 3-8 p.m., Enter exhibits;

• 6-8 p.m., Contests and games for all ages hosted by Sound Productions on the open stage;

• 6 p.m. to midnight, Beverage tent open with live band ‘Detour’.

Saturday, Sept. 4

• 11 a.m., Enter exhibits;

• 12 p.m., Petting zoo, Gager pony rides and Midway opens;

• 12-1 p.m., Music by Sound Productions on the open stage;

• 1 p.m., Carnival Bingo, Texas Hold ‘Em (cash games), Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament in the bingo building, Newman School of Dance on the open stage;

• 1:30 p.m., Tai Kwan Do Demonstration on the open stage;

• 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., My Adventure Theatre under the pavilion;

• 2 p.m., Kids scavenger hunt begins at the open stage, FHS Cheerleaders on the open stage;

• 3 p.m., Karaoke contest on the open stage;

• 4 p.m., Carnival bingo;

• 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Beverage tent open with live band ‘Detour’;

• 7 p.m., USA Figure 8 Derby.

Sunday, Sept. 5

• 9 a.m. to noon, Judge exhibits;

• 12 p.m., Midway opens, petting zoo, Gager pony rides, free senior bingo;

• 1 p.m., Carnival bingo, Texas Hold ‘Em (cash games), Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament in the bingo building;

• 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., My Adventure Theatre under the pavilion;

• 1:30 p.m., FUMC Choir on the open stage;

• 2-4 p.m., ‘Open Mic’ hosted by Kevin and Otis;

• 4 p.m., Shauna Knowlton on the open stage, carnival bingo;

• 5 p.m., Liz Schuder on the open stage;

• 6 p.m., Eddie Hawkins, Liz Schuder and Brennah Schuder on the open stage;

• 7 p.m., USA Figure 8 Derby;

• 6 p.m. to midnight, Beverage tent opens with live band ‘Voices’;

• Dusk, Fireworks after Figure 8 Derby (3-D glasses available).

Monday, Sept. 6

• 8:30 a.m., Parade registration at little league field;

• 10 a.m., Parade down Main Street;

• 11 a.m., Midway opens;

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., FUMC Chicken BBQ at the Senior Center;

• 12 p.m., Pet parade on open stage, petting zoo, Gager pony rides;

• 1 p.m., ‘Not So Newlywed Game’ on the open stage;

• 2 p.m., Carnival bingo, pick up exhibits;

• 3 p.m., School of Rock on open stage.
